SNACT’s Industry Council is a valuable partner to SNACT. 

The council is made up of a chairperson who is a SNACT corporate members, a vice chair who is a SNACT Director and 7 corporate members. Members serve staggered two year terms. 

SNACT is no longer accepting applications for the 2020-22 term.Thank you to all who applied! 


SNACT Industry Council expectations and commitments

SNACT Industry Council members (and / or their company) must be current SNACT corporate member for the duration of their term. Priority will be given to applicants whose company has been a SNACT corporate member  for at least one year.

IC meeting dates 2020-2021: 8/13/20, 10/8/20, 12/10/20. 2/11/21, 4/8/21, 6/10/21

IC meeting dates 2021-2022: 8/12/21, 10/14/21, 12/9/21, 2/10/22, 4/14/22, 6/9/22

Members must attend 4 out of 6 annual meetings. (dates are subject to change)

Terms: Terms will be for two years beginning August 1 thru July 31 of a given year.  Terms will be staggered, with the preferred mix listed below:

Industry Council Chair serves as the Industry Representative on the SNACT Board, a voting position. The position is elected by SNACT membership in even years.

Industry Council members are approved at SNACT’s Board meeting. Incoming Council members are invited to one Council meeting prior to the commencement of their term. 

Council Member Responsibilities:

  • Establish meeting dates per SNACT calendar year; members must attend four out of six meetings per year at minimum. IC meets on the second Thursday, every other month.

  • Sponsor recruitment – we ask that Industry commit to trying to recruit two sponsors per year 

  • Industry Show -Encourage vendor participation and provide feedback and support

  • Review Industry Council bylaws and policies annually

  • Provide updates on Industry (broker / manufacturer changes) including contact information to Executive Director 

  • Provide feedback on initiatives that might influence or affect industry

  • Attend Leadership Meeting and develop Annual Plan that includes and is supportive of President-Elect’s Agenda

  • Serve on SNACT committees – can include council or non-council industry members 

  • Provide suggestions for value opportunities from Industry perspective (ie: how to increase attendance at Food Show, modify pricing for Industry Session)

  • Provide recommendations on filling open positions

  • Opportunity to assist with Membership as needed

  • Provides feedback on Sponsorship prices and benefits annually

  • Offer suggestions on ways that Industry works with other state association for SNACT to consider
