SNACT vision, mission, values and objectives

 

Vision

All CT students have access to nutritious school meals that promote a healthy lifestyle.


Mission

Provide school nutrition professionals with tools, resources and opportunities for program success and sustainability 


Values striving for excellence through:

Integrity: act ethically, responsibly, and with transparency 

Commitment: encourage, advocate to protect SN programs, students, staff, lifelong learning 

Inclusion: welcoming, respect, diversity, camaraderie

Collaboration: mentorship, teamwork, internal & external outreach and networking, open mindedness

Dedication: quality programs, child nutrition, current standards, growth and development


Objectives of the Association 

The objects and purposes for which this Association is formed are to act as an organization not for profit and to operate exclusively for purposes as described in Section 501 (c) (6) of the Internal Revenue Code and any subsequent amendments thereto and substitutions therefore and in the course thereof, and subject thereto, to act as follows: 


Lead the association in accomplishing the mission, vision and values as established.


Promote high standards of child nutrition programs. 


Promote the importance and value of child nutrition programs through partnerships with allied organizations, industry, the school community and the community at large.


Promote research and development in child nutrition programs. 


Promote state and national nutrition policies and legislation which provide optimal nutrition and nutrition education for children. 


Promote access to healthy and nutritious school meals to support student learning and success.


Promote membership and provide services to members. 


Promote the purposes of the School Nutrition Association.
