COVID-19 Resources for K-12 Families & Students

The CT Department of Education is authorizing two categories of COVID-19 Emergency Meal Programs. These lists will be continuously updated, so make sure to check back for more updates and information.

  • “The COVID-19 Emergency Meal Program Limited to Students Attending School in Specific Districts”. School districts on this list are only authorized to serve meals to students attending their schools, and any other child age 18 or younger residing in the same householdClick here to view this list.

  • “The COVID-19 Community-wide Emergency Meal Program for Children”. ANY child 18 years or younger can receive meals at any meal service and distribution sites in these towns/cities. They DO NOT have to be a resident or attend school in these towns/cities. Click here to view this list.

FNS Response to COVID-19 (link to USDA page)

-This waiver applies to the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Summer Food Service Program.

(2) Waiving of the meal service time requirements across all child nutrition programs
-This waiver applies to the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Summer Food Service Program.

(3) Waiving of the requirement for an educational or enrichment activity when serving an afternoon meal or snack under the National School Lunch Program or Child and Adult Care Food Program.
-This waiver applies to afterschool snacks in the National School Lunch Program and at-risk afterschool meals and snacks in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
