What is Hot Topics for Directors?

Hot Topics are periodic lunch time opportunities for School Nutrition Directors to meet at a restaurant for informal discussions about a pre-identified topic. There are usually  3-4 per year, in locations throughout CT.


Who is invited?

Directors who are members of SNACT are invited.

 

Hot Topics are free of charge to invitees but you must be registered to attend. 


Information and registration for upcoming Hot Topics are distributed through SNACT’s Thursday Thoughts.


What is discussed? 

Topics are wide ranging. Past topics have included:

  • Menuing and Purchasing: You have seen it at the SNACT show-Take it from the show floor to your lunch tray

  • Lunch line hurdles: tackling everything from allergens,charging policies to theft

  • Dealing with conflict in the workplace: when to coach, when to discipline


Hot Topics are hosted by Industry partners.

 

2020-2021 Update: SNACT strongly believes that protecting the health and safety of our event attendees must take priority in our decision making process. We will continue to review and refocus our upcoming events with this in mind as we move through 2020-21. 

 

SNACT is committed to providing our members with the same professional development, information and community that we have all come to expect. While this may not happen the same way with face to face in person interactions, we will continue to navigate new methods and ideas to continue to uphold that standard. 

 

Despite all the challenges ahead of us we focused on our school nutrition and corporate members to keep our community thriving or on some days just to keep surviving. While 2020-21 may look and feel a little different, we are here for you. We will continue to work to bring us all together in new and exciting ways!
